Emma Isabella McGavin is the fifth child of Robert and Caroline Gee McGavin. She was born at a place known as Gooseberry Ranch in the Southern part of the Idaho. She lived there for only a few years then the family moved to Star Valley, Wyoming. Belle married Joseph Jolley Jensen September 21, 1905 in the Logan temple. They are the parents of seven children. The second son, Clifford, was drowned in a canal as a young child. Belle died on October 9, 1928 following surgery for an inflamed gall bladder in Idaho Falls. She left her youngest son, Nolan, with her sister, Maggie Harmon who raised him. Her oldest son, Cecil was grown and had left home. Four children, Oleta, Wendell, Genevieve, and Hattie were left to care for themselves after their father left Montpelier soon after Belle's death.
