Funeral service for Mrs. Mildred Inez Chaviers, age 82, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday September 14, 2005, at Laird Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Orr and the Rev. James Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. Chaviers passed away Monday, September 12, 2005, in Nacogdoches. Born March 31, 1923, in Carthage, she was the daughter of Flora Mae Lloyd Connell and Mike Connell. She was a homemaker, and together with her husband, owned and operated Chaviers Dairy Farm. Inez was an excellent cook and loved to work in her flower garden. She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader of the Bible. She was a member of Mt. Enterprise First Baptist Church. Mrs. Chaviers belonged to the DAV Ladies Auxiliary and the Republican Presidential Task Force. Survivors include daughters Frances Ballenger of Nacogdoches, Delores Bailey and husband Gary of Nacogdoches; granddaughter Rene Ballenger of Henderson; grandson Britt Ballenger and wife Amy of Jasper; step-granddaughter Linda Campbell and husband Doug of Carthage and nephew Jimmy Ward and wife Sherry of Center. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chaviers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-seven years, Virgil Chaviers; brother Clifford Connell; sisters Lucille Connell, Ruth Ward and Willie Ritchey; and son-in-law Jack Ballenger. Active pallbearers will be Jason Russell, Mark Horner, Mike Porter, Michael Stanaland, Britt Ballenger, Doug Stewart and Garrell Faulkner.
