Loreeta M. White, 86 May 24, 1921 - October 9, 2007 Former resident of Seminole and Oklahoma City, Loreeta (Dickerson) White passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Rose Manor Nursing Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Services are scheduled at First Baptist Church, Seminole, Saturday, October 13, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Tommy Clark officiating. Services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Kansas Cemetery, West of Edmond, Oklahoma. Loreeta was born in Piedmont, Oklahoma, on May 24, 1921, to Ernest and Maud Kessler. She was a graduate of Piedmont High School and attended Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. She married Harry Dickerson, April, 1940, in Piedmont, Oklahoma, and he preceded her in death in August, 1979. She married John White in May, 1981, and he preceded her in death in July, 1983. She resided in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 48 years before moving to Shawnee because of her failing health in May, 2007. She became a Christian as a teenager and was an active member of Meridian Ave. Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She sang in the choir and taught an adult ladies Sunday School class for many years. Loreeta loved to cook for her family and enjoyed yard work and had a green thumb for all kinds of flowers. She looked forward to family get together's and will truly be missed by her loved ones and friends. Loreeta is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jimmy and Harriett Howard of Seminole, Oklahoma and one son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Cindy Dickerson of Yukon, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Terry Howard and his wife, Cherry, of Seminole, Oklahoma, Tony Howard and his wife, Helen of Coppell, Texas, and Kathi Ackerman and her husband, Jeff of Plano, Texas; nine great- grandchildren, Lee, Victoria, Laura, Sarah, Angel, Gabriele and Jayden Howard and Alexis and Carson Ackerman. Also surviving Loreeta is her twin sister and her husband, Lloyd and Lorraine Biggs of Piedmont, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Claude Kessler and one sister, Vella Emma Pickard. Pallbearers will be Terry Howard, Tony Howard, Wayne Kessler, and Kenenth Briggs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Russell Feland, Harley Miller, O.D. Miller, Jack Miller and Pete Petty. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made in Loreeta's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 3555 NW 58th, Suite 220, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112 or the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112-6506.
