SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN
Frederick Brewer was the son of Jackson Andrew and Sarah Ann (Saviers) Brewer. He was born August 14, 1872 in Knoxville, Iowa.
Enlisted June 1, 1898 at Des Moines, Iowa. Assigned to Company "D", 52st Iowa Infantry. Discharged as Private on February 14, 1899 in San Francisco, California. His discharge reads Frederick Brewer while his pension certificate reads Fredrick Brewer. His pension was on Certificate No. 1,226,349.
A single man, his normal occupation had been as a laborer. On March 15, 1927, he requested admission to the Washington Veterans' Home in Retsil.
Mr. Brewer passed away at the U.S. Marine Hospital in Seattle on May 14, 1936. He was buried in the Home Cemetery.
