James Rubright Taken By Death
James Rubright, 75, died Friday night at 8:30 O'clock at the family home on Octagon Rural Route 1, after an illness of 12 weeks.
born near Pyrmont, June 8, 1857, he was the son of Jacob and Katherine (Everett) Rubright. Mr. Rubright had lived near Octagon for 28 years, retiring from active farming a few years ago. In April, 1884, he was married to Emma Shriner, who preceded him in death 21 years ago. Mr. Rubright was a member of Mt. Zion M.E. Church and the following Lodges, Masonic Lodge of Octagon, Red Men of Klondike, and Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are seven children, Mrs C. H. Shertzer, of Bloomfield, Mrs. C. G. Byers, of Route 10, Mrs. Charles Fuller, of Route 10, Ernest Rubright, of Route 1, Adrian and Lowell Rubright, at home, And Roy Rubright, of Hammond. Four children preceded him in death. A sister, Mrs. John Bice, of Route 12, and a Brother, William of Route 9 also survive.
The body was removed to the Rogers & Smith Funeral home and will be returned to the family home, where friends may call after 1 O'clock Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 O'clock from the residence, Rev. Earl Heimburger, of Thorntown, and Rev. J. W. Neil of Montmorenci, Officiating. Internment in Sand Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rogers and Smith Funeral Home to view the Bady Saturday Evening.
