Annie Mae (Polly) Allen, 83 of Bertram died October 7, 2004.
Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Clements/Wilcox Chapel with Bill Breitschopf and John Kay Officiating. Burial was followed at Bear Creek Cemetery.
A native of Central Texas, she was born September 2, 1921 in Williamson County and lived in Bertram for the past 42 years. She was the daughter of Alvie and Ethel Cantrell. She married Jim Allen Sr. on April 12, 1943. Jim and Polly met in a Walgreens drug store on Congress Avenue in Austin, Tx. Polly worked at Lammes Candies and Marie Antionette for a time but most of her life was spent as a housewife and mother.
She was baptized at an early age and a member of the Baptist Church. She had 6 children, all of Bertram. Pat Jackson, Jimmy Allen and wife Marlene, Carol Bird and husband Wade, Ann Kay, Sandra Crawford and Eddie Allen. 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
