A gathering to celebrate the life of Paul Charles "Ike" Holliday, 75, of Coos Bay, formerly of Myrtle Point, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Amling/Schroeder Funeral Service, Myrtle Point Chapel, 404 Seventh St. Burial will follow at Catching Creek Cemetery.
Ike was born on Nov. 26, 1933, in Wolf Point, Mont., to Paul and Madge (Morris) Holliday. He died May 14, 2009, in Coos Bay.
His family moved to Oregon in 1940. Ike attended Myrtle Point schools. He married Bernice Horner on Sept. 27, 1952. He was a logger in Oregon and Alaska his entire adult life.
Ike is survived by his sons, Paul Holliday and his wife, Landy and Jim Holliday and his wife, Liesa; daughters, Diane Porth and her husband, Russell and Shannon Baker all of Prineville; sisters, Darlene and Leila both of North Bend; brother, Richard Holliday of Colton; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; son, Tom; sisters, Iris, Beverly and Donna; and brothers, Gerald and Thomas
The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, C/O Amling/Schroeder, 404 Seventh St., Myrtle Point, OR 97458
