George S. Heimerdinger, 78, of Clinton, died at Herrick Manor on Tuesday, March 19, 2002. He was born June 23, 1923 to the late Clarence G. & S. Myrle (Lemm) Heimerdinger. George was a Clinton High School graduate, class of 1941. On June 8, 1946, he was united in marriage with Margaret Lucille (Markie)Zick, and she preceded him in death Feb. 5, 2000. George was a lifelong resident of the area. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. George was a part-owner of Heimerdinger Brothers Dairy Farm in Clinton all of his life. From 1979 until 1999, along with his farming, he worked as a Sales Representitive for Pioneer Seed, which he greatly enjoyed. George was a member of the United Church of Christ in Clinton, the Clinton American Legion, Tecumseh VFW, Michigan Farm Bureau and the Clinton Masonic Lodge. He loved and enjoyed his family and friends and will be greatly missed. George is survived by two sons, Barry (Martha) Heimerdinger of Clinton and Wally (Paula) Heimerdinger of Valrico, FL; two brothers,James (Evelyn) Heimerdinger of Clinton and David (Mary) Heimerdinger of Clinton; three sisters, Lois Richardson of Onsted, Evelyn (Harold) Gregg of Adrian, and Ruth Ebach of Livonia; a foster daughter, Betty (Ed) O'Hare of South Carolina; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceeded in death by a foster son, David Moore, and two brothers, Junior and William Heimerdinger. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, at the Clinton Chapel of Couture-Handler Funeral Homes from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, March 22, 4-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the Clinton United Church of Christ on Saturday, March 23, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Uphaus officiating. He will lie in state at the church that morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton under the auspices of the American Legion and the VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clinton United Church of Christ. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
