John Robert Bingham, a proud veteran of WWII, left this life on May 18, 2009, at the age of 84. He was born on March 28, 1925, the son of Ross W. and Mildred M. Bingham, who preceded him in death. He spent his life as a successful businessman, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is remembered and cherished by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou Bingham, and their four sons, Steve and his wife Debbie Bingham, Bob and his wife Holly Bingham, David and his wife Gayle Bingham, and Tom Bingham. Grandpa is also remembered by 14 grandchildren, Brian Bingham, Amy Bingham-Presley, Kristi Edwards, Katie Baldus, Lindsey Edwards, Brandi Bingham-Mills, Lori Bingham-Mace, Jacquelyn Bingham, Dustin Bingham, Aaron Bingham, Ashley Bingham, Kelsey Bingham, John Bingham and Jesse Bingham; and 12 great-grandchildren. John and Mary had their first date on May 18, 1946, and their last date on May 18, 2009 and enjoyed 63 extraordinary and action packed years in-between. Their relationship has inspired many lives. They traveled the world together, always side by side, visiting 21 foreign countries including a motor home caravan through Russia. While on these trips, he would bring home rocks and shells and many other artifacts from his journeys which he shared with others. John will be remembered for many reasons; he was naturally witty and quick with a joke and was an avid reader. He had a passion for genealogy, photography from a young age and of course, his rose garden. John, a native Missourian, attended the Mt. Comfort Bible Church. Donations may be made to the Community Foundation of the Ozarks for the Bingham/Johnson Mount Comfort Cemetery Fund. Thank you to Community Hospice and the staff of the Missouri Veterans Home for their professional and heartfelt care they gave to John during his stay. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday in Greenlawn East located on Seminole off of Blackman Road from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 20, in Mount Comfort Church at 1:30 p.m. with burial in the Mount Comfort Cemetery.
