RADFORD — Wilbur Ruble Brooks, 87, died Friday in Franklin County Health Care Center, Rocky Mount. He was a retired employee of Burlington Industries and was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Grace Brooks. Surviving are three sons, Donald G. Brooks, Redwood, VA; Kenneth D. Brooks, Chicago, IL; and Wayne J. Brooks, Newport News; two daughters & sons-in-law, Fay & Garnie Dishon of Radford; Hazel & Roger Copko of Norfolk; a brother, Robert Brooks, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Arvil Sexton of Harriman, TN; and Mrs. Carl Thomas, Brookville, IN; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
