JAMES A. HARNESS
"Thy remains of James Harness of Leavenworth, were buried in Kickapoo cemetery last Saturday. Harness was born in Kentucky in 1843 and was 57 years old.
At the outbreak of the civil war he enlisted in Company F, 3rd. Kentucky Volunteers and made a creditable record. He was drawing a small pension from the government and had assurance from Senator Baker that he would have drawn $2,400 back pay in a short time."
