SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN

Fred M. Allen was born June 19, 1880 in Dayton, Washington to Albert O. and Sarah (Bell) Allen. He had married twice. His first marriage was in Dayton on March 26, 1899 to Anna Belle Wick. Anna died on October 9, 1910. His second marriage was in Seattle on April 18, 1912. Amy Allen died in 1941. He remarried in Seattle on February 27,1942 to Marie (Klodt) Axelrod. In 1947, he married Mrs. Maude Craig, who also resided in the Veterans' Home. She passed away in 1956.

MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted June 27, 1898 in Walla Walla, Washington. Served in Company "F", 1st Washington. Discharged October 7, 1898 in San Francisco, California under a writ of habeus corpus for being under age. He was awarded a pension on Certificate No. C-2,313,749.

Mr. Allen passed away at the Washington Veterans' Home on November 5, 1961 at age 81. His funeral was held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Port Orchard. He was survived by Mrs. Marjorie Robicheau of Seattle and his son, Mr. Fred P. Allen of Seattle.
