Mrs. Easter Brandmeir Succumbs
Mrs. Mae Easter Smith Brandmeir, 73, who had lived here since 1914, died Friday in a Seattle nursing home.
Parish Rosary will be said at 3:30 o'clock today in Manning & Sons chapel. A Third Order of St. Francis Rosary will be said at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Holyrood.
Mrs. Brandmeir was born in Minneapolis. She was educated in Wisconsin and taught school there before coming to Seattle.
She was a former officer of the Third Order of St. Francis, and was a member of the Sacred Heart League, the Ladies Sodality of St. Joseph's Parish and was a charter member of the Xavier and the Durocher Clubs. She also was a member of the St. Martin's Mothers' Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hibernians and the St. Joseph's Parish Guild.
Survivors include:
Four sons, Frank H. Brandmeir, Grand Junction, Colo.; Robert C. Brandmeir, San Francisco, and Jack W. and James D. Brandmeir, both of Seattle.
Six daughters, Mrs. John C. Brown, Kwajalein Island; Mrs. John W. Shepard, Alameda, Calif.; Sister M. Anthony Francis, S.N.J.M., Uniontown, Whitman County; Mrs. Francis L. Beardsley, Carmel, Calif.; Miss Kathleen M. Brandmeir, Castro Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Harold A. Daubenspeck, Seattle.
Three brothers, Floyd D. and Joseph C. Smith, St. Paul, and Roy F. Smith, Costa Mesa, Calif.; a sister, Miss Grace B. Smith, Minneapolis, and 32 grandchildren.
The recent marriage of Mrs. Beardsley, a widow with eight children, to a Navy warrant officer with ten children, was reported widely in the nation's press.
