"Los Angeles, Feb 21 - Crosby Stewart Noyes, editor in chief of the Washington Evening Star, died at 5:30 o'clock this evening at the Hotel Raymond at Pasadena after an illness dating from his arrival three weeks ago.
Complications which became pronounced late in the afternoon exhausted the strength and vitality which he had displayed during the past fortnight and which in spite of his 83 years had astonished and encouraged the physicans in charge.
At his bedside when the end came were all of the members of his family, including his wife, three sons, Theodore W. Noyes, associate editor of the Star; Frank B. Noyes, Editor of the Chicago Record-Herald and president of Associated Press, and Thomas B. Noyes, manager of the Washington Star and his daughter Mrs. George W. Boyd of Philadelphia. In addition Fred W. Hall, a son-in-law was present.
The death of Mr. Noyes, followed an attack of grip contracted while traveling to California. Mrs. Noyes, the widow, suffered as attack of grip at the same time and is tonight somewhat ill as the result of the shock.
Arrangements for the funeral are not yet complete but it has been determined that the remains will be interred in the family plot at Rock Creek Cemetery, Washington."
