John W. Kirk 1862-
The Kirks went with many other relatives from Missouri to Oregon in the spring of 1865 in a wagon train of 114 wagon, led by George's brother James Travis Kirk. George's father was deceased by this time and buried in Kirksville. George's mother and all his siblings and their families, except one, accompanied him to Oregon.
