Mrs. Naomi Elizabeth Whitney Martin, age 72, of Mantee, died Tuesday, November 17 at Oxford Lafayette Medical Center. Funeral services were held Friday, November 20 at 10 am at Mantee Baptist Church. Burial was in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Webster County with the Rev. Terry Williams officiating.
The daughter of the late Homer Henry Whitney and the late Cora McRae, she was a retired aide and homemaker. She was born in Wayne County and was the widow of the late Oris Adron Martin. She was a member of Mantee Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Libby Brand of Mantee, Glenda Muirhead of Santa Ana, California and Hilda Campbell of Grenada; one son, Mack Martin of Meridian; two sisters, Geraldine Hyatt of Pascagoula and Nell Brilbrey of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Malcolm C Whitney of Natchez and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Haven Ellison, Mack Whitney, Richard Stuckey, Howard Forrester, Allen Hall and Jacky Martin.
Abrams Funeral Home of Houston was in charge of arrangements.
