Jerald P. Brown, 82, of Fort Dodge, died on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. G. L. Milbrath officiating. Burial will be North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Survivors include- sons, Arnold and his wife Janice of Troy, IL, Ronald and his wife Mary of Lehigh; daughters, Elaine and her husband Allan Jamieson of Erie, CO, Lori and her husband Monty Read of Clare; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Tom and Duane Brown of Fort Dodge, Dave Brown of WI, Gene Brown of Webster City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Fred and Miriam Scharf Brown; and his wife, Evelyn E. in 2002.
Jerald P. Brown was born on May 16, 1926, in Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. He then attended Iowa Central Community College. On September 24, 1955, he was united in marriage to Evelyn E. Fuller at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. In 1988, he and his wife opened Jerry's Mix and Match which they owned and operated together until the time of her death. He retired in 2008 due to ill health. Jerry was a life long member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where he served with his wife as the church Treasurer for 40 years.
