Death: Feb. 8, 2009

Decorated veteran of WWII and Korea, Member of the Order of Canada,
recipient of Canadian Forces Decoration

Mr. George Terry C.M. CD, formerly of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully at the Bow Island Long Term Care in Bow Island, Alberta on February 8, 2009, at the age of 85 years. George is survived by his 5 children, Ilana Mackenzie, George Terry, Lloyd Terry, Jo-Ann Hughes, and Dale Terry. George's loving wife "Ann" passed before him in 1991.

George was a peaceful man who gave most of his life to the service of others in this world. He passed with a clean slate before God, with Jesus at the lead. He left behind a long line of attributes to this life, including 32 years of service as a Medic in the Army. George was recognised for his work with the military, seniors, youth and aboriginal peoples. He held the honour of being the highest decorated aboriginal soldier in Saskatchewan, receiving 13 medals, plus the prestigious Order of Canada, Citizen of the Year for Moose Jaw, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Multicultural International Peace Prize, and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Those who were fortunate enough to know George will remember him for his interesting and humorous conversations as well as his spiritual leadership abilities which he continued right up until the end. Poppa will be sadly missed, but remembered with pride.

The funeral service will be held on June 19, 2009. George will be laid to rest with his fallen comrades in the Field of Honour at Moose Jaw Rosedale Cemetery. A Celebration of George's life will follow the interment.
