Phyllis Ann Eakens, age 62, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009. She was born April 11, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. Eakens was a secretary at Jones Eyes Institute in UAMS. She was a member of Forest Hills Missionary Baptist Church, the Benton Professional Women's Association, and the Quilters Quild. Mrs. Eakens was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Shelby and Clara Louise Page; husband, Virgil David Eakens and a sister, Teresa Ann Bartlett.

She is survived by two sons, Alan Keith Eakens and wife Sherry of Benton and Phillip David Eakens of Westminister, Maryland; daughter, Ann Marie Barnett and husband Bryan of Benton, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Hicks Cemetery. Bro. Marcus Blakley will be officiating.
