John Hubert Brodie, 87, Klamath Falls, died on Friday in Klamath Falls.
He was born in Darden, Tennessee to Abraham Land Brodie and the former Amanda McCurry.
He was married to Gladys Chesley on June 1, 1935, in Klamath Falls.
He was a resident of Klamath Falls for the past 50 years, having moved to Klamath Falls from Eugene.
Before moving to Klamath Falls, Mr. Brodie was a cashier in a bank in Texas, a drug store owner in Oklahoma, worked in a book store in Walla Walla, Wash., and worked in a stationery store in Eugene.
In Klamath Falls, he worked for Shaw Stationery Co. from 1932 until 1964. When he retired he was assistant manager of the store.
As a hobby, he bought and remodeled old houses, then resold them. He also played golf and was a member of Reames Country Club.
Mr. Brodie was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Art Club and the Exchange Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys of Klamath Falls and his brother, Clifford of Monroe, La.
