Anna V. Cannon, 83, of Keokuk, died Friday, November 01, 2002 at 8:20 A.M. at the Keokuk Nursing Center in Keokuk, Iowa.

Anna Cannon was born on February 26, 1919 in rural Wayland, Missouri. She was the daughter of Lewis and Oda Ferguson Schaaf. She married Robert Cannon on January 22, 1951 in Palymra, Missouri. He preceded her on December 6, 1996. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Alexandria, Missouri and was a homemaker.From 1947 to 1950 she worked at both Graham Hospital and St. Joseph Hospitals as a nurse and in the laboratory.

Anna was an avid crocheter and over the last 16 years she had made approximately 4,700 baby hats for Keokuk Area Hospital Auxiliary O/B Department. In December of 1999 she was made a lifetime member of the Keokuk Area Hospital Auxiliary. She raised chickens, pheasants and hunting dogs. She also liked to do carpenter work, gardening, walking, and reading. For several years she was a volunteer at the Red Cross Bloodmobile.

Survivors include a son, Robert Cannon and his wife, Dianna, of Keokuk; a daughter, Anita Hood and her husband, Tom, of Keokuk; three grandchildren, Jason Cannon and his fiancÚ, Kim Wixom, Rob Hood and his wife, Lori and Justine Lambert and her husband Danny; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Kori, Luke and Kailey Ann; five nieces and nephews, Paul Schaaf of Camanche, Iowa, James Schaaf of Des Moines, Iowa, Judy Becker of Kenniwich, Washington, Jeannie Cole of Montgomery, Alabama and Candy Brown of Williamstown, Missouri; sister-in-law, Imogene Schaaf of Kahoka, Missouri; and her best friend, Neva Deiling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; a niece, Joy Loring; and a nephew, Gale Schaaf.

Services were held Tuesday at DeJong's Funeral Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri.

Memorials may be made for the education of her great grandchildren.
