OLD PIONEER IS CALLED HOME
FRANK BEEDLE, RESPECTED CITIZEN DIES SUNDAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Leaves a Wife and Several Children--Came to Onawa Many Years Ago and Settled on a Farm West of Town--Has Been Prosperous.
The Death Angel summoned another one of our old pioneers on Sunday June 5, 1927 when it called to the Heavanly home our highly respected citizen, Frank Beedle, who for some time past has been in failing health.
Mr. Beedle was liked and respected by all who knew him, honest and upright in all his dealings to his fellowmen, a hard working man always, and a man who dearly loved his home and family. His presence in the community will be missed, he did not care for prominence in civic affairs, however he successfully acted as a school director for a number of years. His was a quiet disposition. He just wanted to be a friend to man, a builder of the community, which he was.
Frank Beedle son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Beedle, was born in Tuscola Illinois, April 25th, 1851 and passed away at his country home where he had resided for the past 25 years on Sunday June 5, 1927 at the age of 76 years, one month and 10 days.
Mr. Beedle was united in marriage to Miss Mary E. Taylor at Tuscola, Ilinois, on March 6, 1873, a few years after in October 1879 they drove west to make their home locating on a farm west of Onawa, in which locality they have since resided. To this happy union six children were born, one daughter Lucretia preceding her father in death on September 18, 1908.
He leaves to mourn his pasing his wife Mrs. Mary E. Beedle, one daughter, Mrs. Mortie Amerine, and four sons, Johnson, James, Dewey and Fred Beedle, all residents of this place. One brother John Beedle of Mounds, Ill and 13 grandchildren and one great grand child also survive besides a host of friends and relativies.
The Funeral was held at the Onawa Christian church on last Tuesday afternoon being conducted by the Bown Funeral Home, and the services were preached by Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser, pastor of the church. Burial was made in the Onawa cemetery.
