Deacon Joseph Lucas. Son of Samuel Lucas and Patience Warren. Grandson of Thomas Lucas. His parents have been added as unknown burials which I do not link to.

Husband of Persis Shaw, the daughter of Lt. Jonathan and Mehitable Pratt. They were married 10 Mar 1714 at Plympton, Mass and had the following children:
* John, b 14 Dec 1715, m Lydia Doty, 8 children
* Hannah, b 10 Nov 1717, died age 27, unmarried
* Deacon Samuel Lewis, 1720-1792, m Abigail Shaw, 13 children
* Barnabas, 17 Dec 1721 - 20 May 1726, Carver
* Patience, Mrs Joshua Perry, b 17 January 1723/24

There is the possibility of another son, Benjamin, who died about the same time as his mother.

The family lived in an area of Plympton now Carver.

After Persis died in 1726, Joseph remarried Melatiah Carey, the daughter of Francis Cary/Carey and Lydia Brett. They were married 09 Nov 1727 in Bridgewater and had one son:
Barnabas, born 30 Oct 1729 in Plympton
