Antoinette married Amos Harris, a successful gold miner and businessman in 1859. In 1881 Antoinette and Amos settled Near Fowler's Switch before there were any other farms or settlements in the area. Determined to make the best of her situation, Antoinette managed to make their home the central point for cultural gatherings in the area until the town of Fowler was well established. Literally the "First Lady" of Fowler.

Amos and Nettie became the parents of the following children : Belle, deceased, and Frank B., her twin brother, who is a large contractor in building irrigation ditches for the United States government; Howard A., the editor and proprietor of the Fowler Ensign; and Robert A., deceased.
