Beulah Mullins Wattenbarger

Beulah Mullins Wattenbarger, 85, of Decatur, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2009, at her residence.

A native of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late William Bedney and Laura Alice Arnwine Davis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elvin Lee Mullins, on Feb. 7, 1960; one daughter, Elizabeth Louise Taylor; one son, Elvin Lee Mullins Jr.; and one brother, Spurgeon Davis. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Athens, where she remained active until the time of her death.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, J.R. Wattenbarger of Decatur; two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Harold Priest of Hixson, and Linda and Mike Ratledge of Athens; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Linda Mullins and Randy and Brenda Mullins, all of Athens; one stepdaughter and husband, Poppy and Jimmy Stiner of Decatur; two stepsons and one spouse, Stacey and Carolyn Wattenbarger and Danny Wattenbarger, all of Decatur; one sister and brother-in-law, Inez and John Armour of Lenoir City; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Mary Davis of Stuart, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Bernard officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
