Medie T. Still Jr.
Retired, St. Regis Paper Co. PENSACOLA, Fla. – Memorial services for Medie T. Still Jr. will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Rob Looper officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, Miss., with Harper Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola in charge of arrangements. Mr. Still, 85, of Pensacola, died Monday, May 4, 2009. Born May 27, 1923, in Meridian, Miss., he graduated from Meridian High School in 1941 and went on to graduate from Mississippi State University with a degree in chemical engineering in 1948. Mr. Still was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received a Bronze Star. He was a member of McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Exchange Club.
Survivors include his son, Medie T. Still III and his wife, Barbara, of Rincon, Ga.; his daughter, Pamela Still Stephens and her husband, Perry, of Pensacola; three grandchildren, Medie T. Still IV and Rebecca Leigh Still, both of Rincon, and Christopher Leslie Williams of Pensacola; and a sister, Frances Graham of Chapel Hill, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ouida Purvis Still. The family request memorials be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, Fla. 32504
