John G. Capper, 82 died early this morning at Timken Mercy Hospital following an extended illness. He resided at 614 1/2 2nd. St. NW and had been a patient at the hospital since Sept 30.
A native of Leesville, he came to Canton 50 years ago from Carroll County. He was a retired employee of the Dueber-Hampden Watch Co. and was a member of the First Methodist Church and Nimisilla Lodge 39, IOOF.
He is survived by his wife Olive D. Capper; one son, John; one brother William; and one granddaughter, all of Canton. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Reed Funeral Home. Rev. Dwight W. Heston will officiate. Following the services, the body will be taken to Clevelad For Cremation. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The IOOF will hold dervices at 7 p.m/ Monday.
