Miss Ada Abernathy, 72, of Rushville died at 7:30 a.m. today in the Scott Nursing Home at Lafayette where she had been living since June of 1959.
A Rushville resident for 65 years before entering the nursing home, Miss Abernathy formerly resided on West Eighth Street.
She was employed as a clerk at the old 99 Cent Store here for 25 years and also formerly worked in the gas company office for five years.
A native of Homer, she was born June 29, 1890, the daughter of George and Sara Carter Abernathy. She was never married.
Miss Abernathy was a member of the Main Street Christian Church.
Only survivor is a sister, Mrs. Floyd Switzer of Attica. Four brothers and two sisters-preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Moster and Sons Mortuary, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday, with burial in East Hill Cemetery.
