|Birth: ||Mar. 14, 1867|
|Death: ||Jan. 9, 1934|
Native of Atchison County, Missouri - Langdon, MO - Benton township dies at age of 66 years, 9 months, 25 days. Daughter of early German settlers of Langdon community. Her life was spent nearby. LaHUE was born March 14, 1867, the daughter of Eilert A. and Gretje REMMERS ROSSMILLER, German residents of the Langdon community for many years. She was born and lived her entire life within a space encompassed by a distance of but a few hundred yards.
To her parents were born three sons and four daughters, surviving members of the family are: Albert E. ROSSMILLER, Palisade, Nebr.; Jacob ROSSMILLER, Hastings, Nebr.; and Mrs. Ekke ROSENBOHM of Langdon, Mo. Deceased brother and 2 sisters: Harmon E. ROSSMILLER, Anna E. ROSSMILLER and Mrs. Otto LUHRS of Imperial, Nebr.
Mrs LaHUE was baptized in the Lutheran faith and became an adult member of the church at her confirmation on April 2, 1882 in the Lutheran Church, Benton Township, the pastor at the time being Mueller.
On Sept. 28, 1887 she married William H. LaHUE at her parents home, Richard BUCKHAM officiating. Mr. LaHUE passed away April 22, 1920. Ten children were born to this union. Three of whom await their mother in the eternal world. There remain to mourn their mothers death the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Linnie HUNTER, Mrs. Etta HUNTER, Miss Mabel of the home, Floyd and Bluford all of the home neighborhood, Mrs. Hannah JOHNSON and Mrs. Alice OAKMAN both of Auburn, Nebr. The deceased children are: James Blaine who died Dec. 26, 1894; Anna who died Jan. 23 1896 and James Harvey Harold who passed away July 12, 1923. Mrs. LaHUE is also survived by a number of grandchilden, who mourn at the passing of a lovable grandmother who lavished her affection upon them. Deceased was a home loving, womanly individual whose chief interest in life was her family and her home. The fact that her entire life was circumscribed by so small a locality as that in which she was born is the best evidence that she was attached to her home and those who constituted her family. She had little desire for other places or other things. Home life was far more attractive to thsi good woman than outside interests. She had excellent business ability as proven by the fact that when her husband died, she joined her sons in the management of the farm and made a success of the business. Her passing removes a figure which was as much a part of Benton township as the land upon which she had made her home. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon January 11, 1934 at two o'clock by Rev. D.L. McCONNELL, pastor of Mrs. LaHUE's church - interment was at Hunter Cemetery.
Confirmed 2 Apr 1882, St Peters Lutheran Church, Langdon, MO, page 77 of the
records of that church.
