Gorman F. Cornwell, 83, of New Lexington, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Genesis HealthCare Center in Zanesville.
Born July 17, 1924, in Wayne, W.Va., to the late Garland and Martha Dean Cornwell, Mr. Cornwell was a carpenter for the Perry County Engineer Department. He was a member of New Lexington First United Methodist Church, John Tague Post 188, Masonic lodges in New Lexington, Cambridge and Columbus and Carnation Chapter 167 OES. He was also a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his daughter, Janet (Mark) Dinan; son, Lynn (Mary Lee) Cornwell; and three grandchildren, Heather Cornwell, Brian Cornwell, and Jonathan Dinan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Cole Cornwell; one brother, Edgar Cornwell; and one sister, Elizabeth Hall.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at the New Lexington First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joel Harbarger officiating. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside services by John Tague Post 188.
