|Death: ||Nov. 22, 1937|
My grandfather related a story to me that his grandmother Julia Freiheit Hugmeyer had a sister who was an opera singer who ran a boarding house and was murdered. The murder was made into a play called "The Boarding House Murder". I find Hattie running a boarding house in the 1930 Indianapolis IN census. She vanishes from the Grand Rapids MI city directories after the 1926 directory.
I had a RAOGK volunteer look at microfilms of 1930 City Directories for Indianapolis. He found the following listing in the DICKSON list.
DICKSON, Hattie H. (widow of Herbert H.) furnished rooms (actually said "furn rms" which I took to mean furnished rooms that could be rented out) 607 N. Delaware, house at same addr.
This listing was the same in: 1931, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37.
I visited the gravesite 5/4/09 - although cemetery records indicate it is marked I found it to be unmarked.
