Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethel Cemetery. Papa will be laid to rest a quarter mile from his birthplace in Bethel Cemetery (SW of Waxahachie).
He was born April 26, 1919, in a farmhouse near Five Points in Ellis County. He was a proud veteran of World War II during which he was trained as a pilot of B-24s. He flew commercially and privately for more than 50 years. Throughout his life, Papa owned numerous businesses and was an active entrepreneur into his 80s. He was a Mason for more than 60 years and a Julian Feild Lodge 908 member.
His witty disposition and determined resolve will be greatly missed by his family.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Iris Marie Williams; son, Michael Williams of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughter, Cathey Wilson of Fort Worth; stepchildren, Lance Schlegel of Dallas and Sandra Raoelina of Austin; 10 grandchldren; and five great-grandchildren.
