Willard A. Pehlke, 82, of Eau Claire passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2001.

Willard was born in Foster, Wisconsin, on May 13, 1919, the son of Albert and Elfreida (Redman) Pehlke. He was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School.

Willard served in the United States Army 95th Division in World War II. Later he was employed as a driver for Husky Oil Company and then as a driver for American Materials. Willard was a member of VFW Post #305. He liked snowmobiling and his pony, "Buddy." Willard will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include two sisters, Violet Steinke of Fall Creek and Irene (Richard) Talmage of Menomonie; an aunt, Emma Redmond; a brother-in-law, LaMoyne Bunce; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Alvina Bunce.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2001, at St. John's Lutheran Church. Pastor Thomas Bryan will officiate. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Chapel and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
