SENECA, KS -- Florence Venetucci, 98, Seneca, Kansas, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Life Care Center in Seneca, Kansas.

She was born July 12, 1905, in the Excelsior area north of Parsons, Kansas, the daughter of Victor and Felecia (Lamboley) Grillot.

She grew up in the Excelsior area and attended Excelsior School. She also attended St. Mary's High School in Pittsburg, KS.

She married Alfred E. "Fred" Vitt on Nov. 23, 1927, at St. Francis Catholic Church at St. Paul, Kansas. They lived in St. Paul after their marriage and moved to Manhattan, KS in 1950, then to Colorado Springs, CO, in 1957. Mr. Vitt preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1962.

She married Antonio N. "Tony" Venetucci in April of 1968 at Colorado Springs, Colorado. He preceded her in death March 29, 1997.

She continued living in Colorado Springs until February of 1999, when she moved to Liberty, Missouri. In November of 1999, she moved to Seneca.

She was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca, KS, and was a long-time member of St. Luke's Circle #239, Daughters of Isabella in St. Paul, KS.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Alfred E. Vitt, Omaha, NE, and Gregory E. Vitt, Seneca, KS; a daughter, Mary Delores VanLeeuwen, Liberty, MO; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by eight brothers and six sisters.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 6, at St. Francis Catholic Church, St. Paul, KS, led by Father Daniel Vacca. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, St. Paul, KS.

Memorials to St. Francis Catholic Church may be left with the funeral home.

Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Parsons, KS, is in charge of arrangements.
