Miriam E. Nilan
Miriam E. Nilan, age 94, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009, at the Franciscan Care Center in Hockessin, DE.
She was the wife of James Albert Nilan, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage, and who passed away in 1974. Born in Landenberg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eveard and Bertha Alcorn Broomhall. She was a Nurses Aid at Pocopson Home in West Chester, PA for 21 years, before retiring in 1977. Mrs. Nilan was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Kennett Square. She enjoyed playing cards and trips to Atlantic City.
Mrs. Nilan is survived by 3 sons, Thomas Nilan of Newark, DE, James Nilan and his wife Evelyn of Wilmington, DE and David Nilan of Kennett Square, PA; 1 daughter, Patricia Konitzer of Kennett Square, PA; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like Thank Bret, Angela, Jane and the rest of the staff, for the special care given to their mother at the Franciscan Care Center.
You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 7-9pm on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2009 at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA (Phone: 610-444-4116), and again on Wednesday morning, May 6, from 8:15-9:15am at the funeral homes. Her Funeral Mass will be at 10am at St. Patrick's Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Kennett Square.
