Crescent City - Mr. Edwin G. Sackett, a pioneer resident of this section, died at his home here last Friday, after an extended illness. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, having been in the Union army for the four years of that great strife. He was a native of Massachusetts, and came here in the early 80's, and since that time Crescent City has been his home. He is survived by his wife, four daughters and three sons, who reside in various places in the North.
The funeral was held from the late family home Sunday afternoon, the interment being in the cemetery here.
