Little Josephine Henrietta Holthaus, second youngest child, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Holthaus, west of Seneca, Friday morning at ten o'clock. The cause of her death was croup diphtheria. The child had been ill since the previous Saturday.
Josephine was born January 19, 1919, making her five years, three months and twenty eight days old.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. Father Gregory at the home at five o'clock the same evening, her four oldest brothers acting as pallbearers. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Funeral Mass was read Tuesday morning, May 20th.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her parents, three sisters, Mrs. Joe Rottinghaus, Cornelia and Mary and eight brothers, Joseph, Clement, Paul, Lawrence, Bernard, Cyril, Gregory and Adolph, all of the home.
