Håkan (Olafsson) Olson was born in Kristianopel parish, Blekinge län, Sweden. He died on July 17,1915 at North Branch.
DEATH OF HOKAN OLSON
Mr. Hokan Olson was born in Kristianjul, Sweden, Sept. 5th, 1845. He came to America in 1870 and settled at Fish Lake. In 1890 he moved to North Branch, and has lived here until his death which occurred Saturday, July 17. Thus being at his death 69 years, 8 months, and 12 days old.
The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church on Monday, July 19. Rev. A. G. Hammerberg officiating at the funeral, and the remains were laid to rest at the beautiful cemetery west of town. (Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch)
Mr. Olson was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and endured his last illness with patience, hoping to find rest in the heavenly place.
Three children, John and Chas. Olson and Mrs. V. Swenson, are left to mourn the departed one. A number of grandchildren, relatives and friends share in their sorrow. God bless us so that we may realize the fleeting hours of our life time and be prepared to depart in peace.
NOTE: In 1910 Hokan Olson was elected to be the first caretaker of this cemetery.
