Ann J. Heiman, 88, of Seneca, KS, formerly of Emporia, KS, died July 6, 1996, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca. She was transferred there from Country View Estates, Seneca, where she was a resident.

She was born December 28, 1907, on a farm north of St. Benedict, KS, the daughter of Henry and Anna Haverkamp Heiman. She graduated from St. Mary's School in St. Benedict and helped on the family farm.

In 1931, she went to beauty school in Hays, KS, and worked in a beauty shop there. After completeing her schooling she moved to Emporia, and started Ann's Beauty Shop. She operated her shop until she moved to the nursing home in 1996. She was very dedicated to her clients at the beauty shop.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia, and a former member of St. Mary's Church, St. Benedict.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Barney Heiman; Frank Heiman; sisters, Bernadine Wichman; Helen Strathman; Nora Mueting; and five infant brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Benedict, KS. Burial was in the church cemetery.
