Born in Grand Forks, British Columbia, he began his career in radio following his service in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He gained international prominence with his announcing of such historic Olympic moments as gold medal victories for Canada's Nancy Greene (1968 Winter Games), the United States' Mark Spitz (1972 Summer Games), and Canada's Alex Baumann (1984 Summer Games). In addition, Reynolds called Grey Cup games and broadcasted games for "Hockey Night in Canada," including the first game in the Vancouver Canucks' history in 1970. He was a two-time recipient of the Doug Gilbert Media Award (1972, 1985), and was inducted into the CBC Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
