Bill Norton, 47, of rural Flora, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday at his home.

Services were held Thursday at the Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City with the Rev. Daren Durey presiding. Burial in the Clay City Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 6, 1938 in Clay City, the son of William and Julia (Handley) Norton.

He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Flora and was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Big Valley Muzzleloaders of Clay County.

He is survived by his mother, Julia of Clay City; a son, William Blaine Norton of Clay City; a daughter, Julianne Cline of Wayne City; two brothers, Jim Norton of Flora and Sam Norton of Whitesboro, Tx.; a half-brother, Al Norton of Texas; a sister, Mrs. Chester (Jean) Foster of Darien, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
