Funeral services for James W Landess, electrician and rancher who died Tuesday, will be held at 12:30pm tomorrow at the Howard Mortuary.

Mr Landess who lived at 243 S. Eliot st died at Denver General Hospital after suffering a heart attack the night before.

He was born in Knob Noster, Johnson County, Missouri on5 Jun 1886 and received his education there. He began his career as an electrician there, and moved to Bakersfield, CA when a young man.

He came to Denver during World War I and was employed here by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. At the close of the war he moved to Warlensburg and worked as an electrician in several coal mines.

In 1932, he purchased a ranch near Evergreen. He sold it in 1943 and returned to Denver. For the past few months he had been working as a night watchman at the Continential Can Co.

He was an enthusiastic baseball fan, having played some semi pro ball as a youth.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Walensburg and was their delegate at the National Moose Convention in Pittsburgh in 1931.

Surviving are his three sons, Warren G, Idaho Springs, Earl A., Denver, and Bert S. Sterling. three daughters, Mrs. Mary Greiner (May Maxwell) and Miss Grace M. Landess all of Denver, Colorado, a sister Mrs Minnie Swope, Cimarron, New Mexico, a brother Scott Landess of Warrensburg MO and five grandchildren.
