WINCHESTER BOY KILLED IN ACTION
Lt. Donald Casebier was killed while on a mission in England September 23 according to word received here. Donald stayed at the home of his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. McKemey at Winchester and attended school here. Donald's wife and baby are now living in Missouri.

Memorial services were held Sunday afternoon at the Winchester high school auditorium for Lt. Donald Casebier who was killed in action.

BODIES HOME FROM EUROPE
Remains of 5,374 Americans who lost their lives during World War II are being returned to the United States from Europe aboard the United States Army transport Lawrence Victory, the army announced today.
Several servicemen from this area are among those being returned. Arrival of the vessel will be announced by the New York port of embarkation.
Armed forces dead originally interred in temporary military cemeteries in France, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom are among those being brought back to this country.
The army stated that each next of kin would be notified in advance of the arrival of the vessel, and again after arrival of the remains at the regional distribution centers of the American Graves registration service.
Remains of Lt. Donald E. Casebier, son of Rosco Casebier of Winchester, also will be returned on this same ship. He lost his life in an airplane crash enroute from England to Germany. (article amended to include mention of this soldier only)
NARA War Department records list this soldiers Home of Record as Massachusetts, State At Large...Died Non-Battle...WWII dead returned from Cambridge Cemetery, British Isles...Re-interred on 07/29/1948.
