M.G. Jacobs was born in Crittendon County, Kentucky, February 29, 1848. In early manhood he professed faith in Christ and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Piney Fork. In 1876 he was united in marriage to Miss Nannie Freeman. To this union there was born one son, Hayes B. Jacobs of Toppenish, Washington. The mother died in his infancy.
In 1886 Mr. Jacobs was married to Miss Mary Lloyd. To them were born three sons, Everett P. of Toppenish, Homer, deceased, and Glee L. of the U.S. Army.
In the fall if 1907 he came to Yakima County, Washington, and has since resided in Toppenish.
After severe suffering for three months with cancer and other troubles, he died May 12, 1919, aged 71 years, two months and 13 days.
His funeral was conducted by the Rev. C.E. Miller from the Bradbury Undertaking Parlors, after which his remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Zillah.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
Deceased leaves to mourn his departure three sons, two brothers and many other relatives.
