Death of General McCall's Son
The death of young Joseph H. McCall, from heart disease, on Monday afternoon, September 4th, is greatly deplored and much sympathy is expressed for the sorrowing relatives, especially for the little sister and grandmother, Mrs. M. L. Wilson, who idolized Joe and is almost prostrated with grief over his untimely death. He was a delicate boy and of late at times had been feeling badly. About three months previous to his death, he had a fainting spell, but Mrs. Wilson, by timely application of water succeeded in reviving him.
Monday, while in the room with his grandmother, he complained of a pain at his heart and a sensation of sickness at his stomach, and going out a few steps fell and was dead in a few moments. He inherited his frail constitution and predisposition to heart disease, from his mother, who died suddenly, under very similar circumstances. Joseph H. McCall, the deceased, was 14 years of age. He was the son of General W. H. H. McCall, who, in consideration of distinguished service in the war of the rebellion was made a Brigadier General at the age of 22 years, being the youngest general in the army. - Globe Silver Belt
