John Michael Newman, 38, of Ririe, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the Ririe Stake Center. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. John Michael Newman, 38, of Ririe, died early Sunday morning, April 26, at EIRMC Hospital from complications of a motor vehicle accident. He was born December 7, 1970, in Idaho Falls. He was the son of John and Arlene Newman of Ririe.
He attended and graduated from Ririe High School from 1985 to 1989. While attending high school, he was a member of the football team and wrestling squad all four years and was named All-State defensive tackle and finished 3rd at the State Finals in Wrestling as a Senior.
After graduating from high school, he attended Votech where he graduated in guard training. He worked for Old Faithful Beverage Co., then for Watkins Distributing, H&K Construction and also assisted his father moving and setting manufactured homes. For the past five years, he had been working at the INL/ Advanced Waste Management Treatment Plant (AWMTP) as a Shift Supervisor.
He was married to Rebecca Newby, daughter of Leonard and Tannis Newby of Idaho Falls. They had three beautiful children whom he loved very much. The things which John enjoyed were his children, nieces and nephews, golfing, coaching football, camping, grilling, four wheeling, hunting, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by Rebecca Newman (divorced); his three children, Dakota, 16, Whittney, 14, and Skyler, 10; his parents, John and Arlene Newman of Ririe; his brother, Brian of Chandler, Ariz.; sister, Julie (Don) Gneiting of Rigby; brother, James (Tabitha) Newman of Rigby; and sister, Brenda Newman of Boise.
He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
