Death: Jan. 24, 1929

The death angel has again passed over our community and called a loved mother and a dear, kind and loving neighbor. Laura J. Fann, 66, died January 24, 1929 at the age of 66 years and 14 days. Funeral services were held at the local Christian Church with burial made in the Maple Grove cemetery.

She was born on January 10, 1863 near McLeansboro, Hamilton, Illinois on January 10, 1863. On January 20, 1882 she married William Fann, who preceded her in death 32 years ago. Mrs. Fann and her family came to Farmer City from Beason about 12 years ago. Since that time she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Imogene Williams, of this city. Children surviving are: Pearl Hutchcraft, Imogene Williams and Ralph Fann, all of this city; Bert of Tampa FL; and Hillis of Hollywood CA. Six grandchildren also survive: Vaneda, Ralph and Hassell Williams and Ernest Hutchcraft of Farmer City; and Thelma and Weldon Fann of Tampa FL.

All the care and love that a skilled physician and an anxious household could devise and apply for her comfort and assistance were brought into play but the fiat of Him who rules our incomings and outgoing had been issued and after a brief struggle, despite the prayers and entreaties of all who knew and loved her, their appeals were overruled and the sufferer's spirit took its flight to that home the Christian believes is the fulfillment of the life everlasting.

Mrs. Fann was a true and faithful Christian woman, being a member of the Christian Church of Farmer City. She loved her Lord and Master and although in late years her hearing prevented her from hearing all of the sermons, she was to be seen many times in the Church worshipping her Master.

Pallbearers were John Barnett, Byron Miles, John Shell, J. F. McIlvain, Elmer Woliung, T. L. Webb and Frank Stevens.
