Joseph N. Allsop, age 99, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Bridgeport Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Mary A. Mellow (Earl Sr.); grandson, Earl, Jr. (Cindy); granddaughter, Martha; one great granddaughter, Da'monque; nephews, James (Deborah) and Calvin; niece, Martha Rogers (Alvin); two great nieces and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Martha Allsop; three brothers, Sam, Mark and Jack Allsop; and one sister, Mary Allsop-Madison. The viewing will be Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Messiah Baptist Church, 210 Congress Street, Bridgeport, 5 to 8 p.m. with Masonic Services at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, February 9, 2009 at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 401 Newfield Avenue, Bridgeport at 11 a.m. with interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Baker-Isaac Funeral Services, 985 Stanford Avenue, Bridgeport.
