Frances DeVries, 87, Fargo, ND died on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Manor Care Health Services in Fargo.
Edna Frances DeVries was born on October 5, 1917 on a farm near Leonard, ND to George and Flora Kensinger. She grew up and attended school in the Leonard area. Frances married Louis DeVries on October 25, 1936 at Leonard, ND. They farmed south of Leonard before moving to various communities in the area including Enderlin, Lisbon, Galesburg, Gardner and Audubon, MN before settling in Glyndon, MN. They moved to the West Fargo High Rise in 1974. Louis died in 1976. Frances entered Manor Care in 1998.
She is survived by a son, Gerrit (Mary) DeVries of West Fargo; a grandson, Darryl (Traci) DeVries of Cincinnati, OH; two great grandchildren, Casey and Blake; a sister, Ruth Riebe of Spokane, WA; and a brother, Donald (Lorraine) Kensinger of Redding, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Maxine King.
Visitation: Saturday from 2 to 3 PM at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
Funeral: Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the West Funeral Home Chapel in West Fargo.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
