Obit from Parkston Advance February 17, 1972: Funeral services for Josephine Neuheisel 86; were held on Saturday at 10 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Mardian officiating, burial was in the church cemetery. Josephine Neuheisel was born at Parkston to Joseph and Odelia Schumacher July 5, 1885 and passed away February 16, 1972 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She married John J. Neuheisel on February 7, 1905 at the Emsley Catholic Church, they farmed northwest of Parkston until moving into town.  Her husband passed away in 1947.  She was a member of the C. D. A. for 50 years. Survivors include: one son, Edward Neuheisel of Portland, Oregon; one foster daughter, Mrs. Norbert (Stella) Hohn, Parkston; one brother, Frank of Storla; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 5 sons, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.Casketbearers were Kevin Neuheisel, Douglas Callies, Greg Reiser, Wayne Reiser, Steven Uttecht and Jeffery Uttecht. Hasson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
